The Walking Dead Lego Figure (JX1005) by Elephant brand

My 5th post for today lol! what a speed. I want to apologize if the way I update this blog is very strange to you.(there may be no immediate update throughout the week or month, but if there is an update, there will be many at once) ^^'. I only manage to update and reply to comments when I have free time.

Okay, here's the final (3rd) set of The Walking Dead by Elephant Brand. The first set is JX1003 and the 2nd set is JX1004.

What do you think about them? I'm not sure whether I start to feel bored with Walking Dead figures or design on their torso is really simple. but certainly all the zombies have a bad face :(

Lego Camouflage Swat by Di Long (D101-D106)

Hi guys! It's been a while since my last post =). However, i received a lot of comments and email from some people expressing their "concern" over cloned series 1 CMF Lego by Bozhi (Series 1 by Bozhi). *nothing to comment here* =p

Anyway, i have a few SWAT sets to share with you guys.. The first set that i have is camouflage SWAT (set of 6) minifigures by Di Long. I don't see any Di Long word on the box, maybe its in those chinese character.

Pardon the bad quality image of the box above. I didn't receive the set with box so i use image that i found on google. I don't have the link that my friend use to order ours but i believe this is the new packaging. 2 sets of 6 in 1 box.

hey guys, i found picture of the box at this seller page: Taobao. They list and name all the weapons at the back of the box. This is the most interesting packaging for SWAT set, IMHO.

This is how i received them. The minifigures are sealed in plastic packaging and the accessories/weapons are attached to plastic racks.

Each minifigure will get this same accessories:

I just noticed each has different faces and different kind of headwear (hats/caps/helmets) with camouflage pattern. The torso also has camo print on both front and back side.

Even the arm has printed camouflage pattern:

Oh, look at that side of their leg. There's tiny pocket printed with camo pattern. Cute eh?

...and these are pictures of each minifigure with their weapon/accessories still attached to the plastic rack.

[i'm soooooooo sorry i messed them up.. =( I pair the minifigure with the wrong set of weapons.. So in these photos, i label each minifigure with number 1 to number 6 and i put mark on every set of weapon rack according to the minifigure number they should belong to. So sorry if these will make you confuse. Only got one right - minifigure labeled with No. 4. I cannot undo it because i already detach them from the rack]

All the weapons that you can get from this set:

The plastic used for the weapon however, is not as good as plastic used by Sheng Yuan (Link, Link). Maybe the quality is just below Lele's (Link, Link). Just look at the lower part of the image above. I accidentally broke that part when i try to detach it from the plastic rack =O very fragile.. or maybe i force too much lol

I will share about another SWAT set by Disen in my next post but before that.. have you seen this before?

This one is by ELiM and only comes with 8 compartment. (i haven't found one with 16 compartment). You may find them in Aliexpress, also comes in black, red, grey, blue, yellow. It's quite pricey, priced at $26.80 each. I found cheaper in Malaysia for RM60 ($16.87). However, the original by Lego will cost around $17-$21 for 8 compartment (Amazon). so might as well get the original one if the price is about the same, right? =)

Waaay before knock off/bootleg lego and their parts exist in mass production as like today, the only solution to have such parts not made available by lego is to  buy custom made which is very expensive and limited tho.

I remember buying this machine gun by Si-Dan for about RM20 (around USD6) inclusive postage.

My favourite source to have those custom made parts are from Brickarms, Firestartoys, Brickwarriors, Brickforge and of course on ebay. I'm sure you also have your own favourite source to have custom made/printed lego parts. 

I had quite a few of the accessories but today i only manage to find 3 sets which is all from Brickforge. 

Each set cost me around RM20 (USD6) inclusive postage. With the same price, i can buy octuple of bootleg issued parts today. Too good to be true right? I will review SWAT set (8 boxes) by Lele in this post..

I am not sure if it is intentional or error in packaging but i only receive 6 set of additional weapons/accessories out of the 8 boxes.

Now lets have a look on the torso and leg. I am quite impress with the design. Every torso has different design and no repetitive.

The plastic however, feel and look cheap. IMHO, the accessories and weapon by Lele is too thin. It is proven with this comparison. I compare one of the vest with Lego vest from Lego Robo SWAT (The Lego movie)

I strip the accessories from the minifigure, lay them out and have the same arrangement with the above photo (minifigure with accessories). It is very time consuming to arrange them with my fat finger. lol

The question now, are those custom made parts or custom print on original lego parts are anywhere better than bootleg/knock off version? IMHO, buying original stuff is one way to support and show your appreciation to authenticity of the item. But custom made is just the same with bootleg/knock off. 

Yesterday i took some time to dig bootleg parts that i have and choose some  accessories that i think is cool and maybe will have some use in future. (for photography of course). If i treasure those custom made machine gun for years, i'll do the same for these parts because they are very unique.
