Duo Le Pin DLP9016 Set of 8s World War 2 Army minifigures

As I recall, we already have plenty of modern age army/military minifigures. If you want something different, please have a look at what DLP has to offer in their latest set #9016.

They have named this theme as World War 2. I think they have made a great choice of colors and background image that accurately reflects the characters are from this theme.

[update@January 19,2016]:
We are very fortunate that @kage has helped translate the label on the box, showing who are these guy supposed to represent (top, left to right and bottom, left to right)

here's a copy paste from his comment:
Top:
1. Soviet soldier (body print seems to be a copy of Colonel Dovchenko from the Indiana Jones Sets)
2. Chinese "8th route" (as printed on the arm) soldier
3. British soldier
4. Adolf Hitler himself

Bottom:
1. Japanese Imperial Soldier (obvious to most in S.E.A)
2. Chinese Nationalist Soldier (Emblem on helmet is the logo of the Nationalists, emblem still in use by Taiwan, most noticeably in their flag)
3. German (obvious enough I guess) K98 soldier (based on magazine pouch printed)
4. American soldier

Hey, have you noticed now that one of the minifigure looks like Adolf Hitler? ahaha. By the way, the box is bigger than the usual box which is used to accommodate this stuff.
comparison of box size

What's in each box;

After opening all the boxes then I noticed every box contains the same big weapon. I'm sorry i don't know the name-  hand missile/grenade launcher? [update] It's mortar. thanks to @kage

The instructions is printed on the back of each card.

Assembled weapon:

Oh yes. That tiny little spring is the most important part in this build. No pin or trigger that you can pull, but you can manually launch the missile.. it's good enough, right?

I think that's the best part in this whole set. For other weapon/accessories; brown rifle - they come loose in sealed bags and for black rifle, the parts are attached to the plastic rack.

Weapons/accessories for each minifigures:

This is the minifigure that I mentioned at the beginning of this post that looks like Adolf Hitler (^_^)".

Not many unique minifigure in this set. One of this figure however has print on left side of the arm and another one has print on his helmet.

Last but not least, all the accessories/weapons you can get from all 8 boxes:

    2. You are most welcome. For the benefit of the people who do not read Chinese, I'll briefly state the armed force (or who) each is supposed to represent. Using your 1st picture as reference, from top left going in a left - right, followed by bottom left -right:

    1. as you can see, print on the torso is superb. their face looks funny and some may not too clear. the plastic is great. plastic for the weapon is thick. way better than Lele, comparable to SY.

    1. i think they are great for ww2 army. most of the army minifigures issued to date are from modern war, with camouflaged pattern and modern weapons.

most of them in brown uniform

  6. Looking closely, the printing looks quite good. How is the quality of the joints and plastic?

Also from your pics, the hand mold looks like old SY ones. Big shoulders from SY older stuff.

I love how the weapons are finished in two colours. It really suit the old rifles extremely well. I'm curious to see how it looks like in real.

    1. Such detail.. The best we could get from bootleg for now is camouflaged weapon.I hope it won't be long now. I mean, nothing could stop these china brand so far.they can imitate anything. Haha

  8. "No pin or trigger that you can pull, but you can manually launch the missile.. it's good enough, right?"
It's good for losing all the projectiles somewhere under furniture, hehe.

And dualfaces in this set are no good. Half of soldiers are two-faces Januses.
Printing looks very decent to me. I'm waiting my DLP Batmans set so I hope printing there will be as good as here.

  10. Hi! Where do you buy your bootleg sets? I wanna start collecting some too but Divisoria is a bit far away from here. Is there a place where I can get them online which is about the same price as Divi? Thanks! :)

    1. Hi. As far as I know Legostore (this blog's author) buys stuff at local stores in Malaysia.
The easiest way to buy bootleg is to use Aliexpress as they have worldwide shipping. Prices there differ, but they are usually almost on same level between different sellers.
But I have no idea what prices are on Divi (what's that)? Can you specify it?

    2. Maybe the Anon above meant Divisoria Market at Manila...

    1. Hey @apodistagon. i havn't post anything this month lol and i know it's already a week since your New Year wish but... Happy New Year to you too. CMF Series 15 just released at local TRU, are you getting any? or other 2016 lego set?

    2. I'm just glad that they maintain the old price RM12.90 regardless our economy condition.

    3. Take your time and do what you like. No rush man. I know it's not easy to find time to blog.

You collect CMF rite? Yea CMF price is still the same but I don't collect minifigs. What I'm sad is the price of PAB cups which saw a 100% hike. MOC now is really for ppl with more money to spare.

I order clone bricks and parts from taobao occasionally. Save me a lot money this way. Colour consistency is a problem if you demand matching shades. But for me, slight variations in colour gives more realism, especially exteriors and walls. So I compromise where $$$ can be saved.

My best way to save $$$ while still enjoying LEGO is ... LDD and POV-ray. Thank god for these wonderful softwares.

Did you 'invest' in the new modular (bank + laundry) and ghostbuster hq recently?
