Sheng Yuan SY 251 Lego Lord of The Ring

If i'm not mistaken, this is the first time Sheng Yuan release minifigures set from LOTR/Hobbit theme.

LOTR character for this set: 2 Lego Horses (black and brown), Lego Pippin, Lego Boromir, Lego Moria Orc, Lego Legolas, Lego Gandalf and Lego Mordor Orc with helmet.

For previous/other issue of Hobbit/LOTR figure, i only have those released by Lele. I think we have too many Gandalf figure now.

What's included in each box. Hm, no game/trading card like the usual.

Sheng Yuan's horse always come unassemble. Its not that hard to assemble them but i think its VERY hard to diamantle it.

The minifigures with their best looking accessories/weapon:

Comparison with original Lego figures on right. Please note the usual SY style of 'short-leg' assembly.

Uh uh... i just realize i don't have loose Lego Mordor Orc minifigure in my collection.. but i can guess that SY figure will look very much like Lego figure except the head is not dual sided faces. =)

    1. i just watched the latest hobbit movie: battle of the 5 armies. yeah, it will be super cool if we could create an army of orc.. dozens of them! with these knock off price, 10s of them is equivalent to 1 original Lego Orc (in term of price). the hardest part is to find them loose. some seller don;t want to sell them individually,

  2. I don't collect LOTR/Hobbit but I bought all the good guys minifig here. Didn't buy the horses and the baddies though. And most likely won't get them anytime soon. Recently I spent too much buying SWAT, military minifigs ... star wars minifigs/microfighters .. and 4 sets of ironman hall of armor SY305.

The newer Wargs and Thestrals set is kinda cool. Although I don't think LOTR/Hobbit has skeleton horses. I hope they are not expensive. They come with a lot of extra bricks that'll be useful for MOCs. Worth it if it's cheap.

    1. Yeah, i just found them yesterday. RM25 for set of 4... but the skeleton horse is a little off for LOTR/Hobbit.. eh what???? You have 4 set of SY305???? What are you going to build with all that bricks?

    2. Yea 4 sets. Bought them for the bricks. I like MOC and thanks to bootleg brands, I can now collect bricks ... at least basic bricks, plates, slopes, studs ... at a much cheaper price.

    1. Hi there. Where are you from? Im from malaysia and i prefer to buy them in set because they are cheaper in set and more importantly.. Complete. The only place to offer individual box is those toy booth inside shopping complex. Most online seller only willing to sell in set because they dont want to be left with unwanted figure..

  6. Hi just found your site and loving it.

Where do you purchase your bootleg sets? I can find them on ebay for around $10 but have to wait a few days for auction to end. I saw the battle for five armies and now want to collect the 13 dwarves as minifigs. On ebay each lego dwarf is from $10-17 each. Wonder if they will make a bootleg version of them.

    1. Hi there. I bought them from Taobao, one of the site that offer stuff from china. Most of reader told me the other option they have is to buy via aliexpress. Its like amazon, but for china made stuff. They offer money return guarantee and there's rating system for seller.. Anyway, have you try browse those hobbit figure from bricklink? Imho, they are cheaper than ebay heheh..

For those clone, i'm not sure when we will have it but i'm sure they will come from Sheng yuan or Lele. So far decool havnt imitate any castle/lotr/hobbit figure. =)
