301, 302, 303 Modern War by Decool

Looks like Decool catching up with army/military figure. Decool use 'Modern War - Worlds Stand on The Brink ' for the theme and in this set of 3 (label on the box), the minifigure is from Navy Seals, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment and Secret Service.

The minifigure cannot stand bright lights lol:

Wow wee... there's another 3 minifigure coming!.. and some army vehicle.. nice~

As expected from Decool. The printing on the face, torso and leg is superb!

My navy seals missing a handgun:

Fully equipped minifigures with weapon and accessories:

Variety of weapon and accessories is not that many compared to what we can have from SY or Lele SWAT.

    5. I will go taobao if buying the whole set of the new release. Normally will wait for 2 or 3 new sets. Save cost of courier.

Compare the price within the supplier in Taobao. Try to get the same supplier. Eventhough when order, seller express fee will charged per item. It will refund it later because same supplier it will only charged once.

Hope this will help you. :)

    9. Hi @Azman Ramlan. getting them from overseas is kinda expensive for us malaysian (with very weak RM) so i suggest you scout for them at local shop/toy booth near your location. I got mine at toy booth inside AEON Kepong. but most toy booth/toy shop have this :)

  2. I saw these at my regular shop but only one left , the one navy seal. The rest are probably sold out :( So I grab the last one . In the past I would never look at them, I would only go for super heroes minifigures. I have just recently become more interested in army /police theme after reading your review LELE's SWAT team, then i try buy some & suddenly i want them more . It's addictive hehe . Good thing these bootleg are cheap.

    4. Well I was wrong. Its clearly written in the boxes, those are M4 A1 (carbine) rifles. Not M16s. The M4A1's in Decool range is nicer than other brands. The mold has a grip by default.

M4A1 replaces M16 as the standard assault rifle in the US Army. And it is standard in many countries too.

I bought 12 boxes altogether (6 x 301 and 6 x 303). I now have a nice rack of standard M4A1's assault rifles for my future MOC weapon storage area.

    5. @apodistagon : please please please please show us your moc of display/room to keep those rifle. It must be super awesome. Im thinking to do the same but im very poor ar moc =(

    6. Brickarms have 4 variations of the M16. And 2 of them already in the Sheng Yuan sets. The only ones missing are the one with a shotgun and the Reloaded version of the M16, which uses a better mold and a 30-round clip compared to the 20-shot clip used in the regular one.

And yes, I don't see a Glock 18 for the Navy SEAL...

    7. I googled Brickarms M16 variants. Interesting, I wouldn't have known about these variants.

We might get bootleg M16-DBR (shotgun) but I don't think we're gonna get a Reloaded M16 since it involves a more complicated molding technique.

    8. Is it okay if i feel really dumb about all these stuff. i think i need input from you guys about such weapon.

  5. @Legostore.My

Notice the word "future" MOC :) ... means I've got an idea but have yet to put it all together. A job and 3 little kids leave me with very little time to moc. Furthermore right now, I'm moc-ing some mecha's so the weapons room has to wait.

Today I added 6 more boxes of 301 and 302. I love the M4 A1's very much. My wife is starting to nag. Buying the same minifigs again.

Hi buddy. Yesterday i saw some seller restocking SY305. I read in previous comment that you bought 4 of them and now i'm thinking to grab a few set too. I would like to have extra bricks to moc something so i think this set is the best choice. 500+ bricks and so many light bluish grey parts.

wow, you have 3 kids? nice! I only have 2 and for me enough is enough.lol

    2. Yea better buy more now. It might get more expensive next year onwards.

I didn't build any ironman sets I bought. Not even one. I just bought it for the bricks.

Actually my biggest haul of bootleg bricks ... at an even more amazing price per piece ... is from a Star Diamond tank. 330+ pieces ... full of grey bricks ... at RM22. Months ago from Tesco. I bought 3 boxes but now I realise I should have bought more. Also I find Star Diamond bricks slighty better quality than SY/Decool.

    3. Omg!!!!!that's sooooo awesomeeeee!!!!! I cant help but notice the weapons are from brickwarriors.. do you plan the design using any computer program first or straightaway build it from scratch?

    4. I'm using the LDD for planning. Yes, the weapons are from brickwarriors and minifigcat. As for the parts to hang to weapons, I improvised what is available in my inventory. :D

  9. I think I am quite sure where Decool is getting the rifle and vest design from. I was browsing the web and bump into a company called "Tiny Tactical" that makes custom weapons and stuff for military themed minifigs.

Google "Tiny Tactical" and marvel at another level of custom minifig weaponry. Both the Decool M4 carbines are my firm favourites and now I think I know why. Tiny Tactical may not have a big catalogue of weapons (unlike Si-Dan Toys or Brickarm or Combatbricks big selections), but the weapons that they do make is amazing.

    1. Wow, @apodistagon. thanks for the info.

you are right, their weapons look very detailed and properly designed. I just look at some of their featured items and cannot stop browsing the whole catalog.

    2. pity them. i just read their latest post, posted in april 2014. someone already imitate their product.

    3. I also notice a lot of hardcore modders who custom paint and mod military minifigs ... they use TT parts and guns. I think of it as the TAMIYA of minifig weapons and stuff.

TT guns are smaller than SDT, Brickarms and others. Smaller but still a lot of details on them. Very finesse. A smaller scale is more realistic, perfect when modding for realistic military minifigs.

But other manufacturers offer helluva lot more guns and stuff. So TT is more of a niche within the minifig weapon community. Good if you love to mod and glue your own version of equipment.

Decool obviously imitated the vest and guns in modern war set. Maybe Decool contracted a bulk load of rifles, vest and mask from the chinese factory that already has TT moulds.

So far Decool guns can only be found in Decool modern war. Whereas SY, Lele, Doll, GBL, Disen ... they all use the pretty much the same guns and stuff.

Oh yea, google "Batisbrick" and you'll find Decool's army vehicles ... the humvee and jeep ones.
