Lele 79050 Modern Combat

I wondered if this set is from the video game adaptation of the famous Modern Combat series. There are 6 figures in one complete set.

Parts for the minifigures are wrapped in plastic while the accessories and weapons are attached to the plastic rack.

Each figure comes with a combination of weapons and accessories as follows:

Uh okay, you need A LOT of patience to assemble the gatling gun. In my case, the situation is getting worse because of my fat fingers lol.

Assembled figures with accessories/weapon:

1. Sniper. Uh uh... That's what  it says on the box. wrong label i guess. But he has the 2nd most awesome weapon in this set.. gatling gun! Together with gas mask and vest with detachable arm-pad, this is must have!

Weakness detected! Hole at the ammunition box is too big for the vest. If yours barely stick, they will most likely get too twisted because of the bendable ammunition belt. so glue it! there's no other way to fix this.

2. Captain

3. Heavy Gunner - This guy also have ammunition box at his back. so he has the same problem with sniper the first guy i mentioned before. This is the best figure in the set, worth the money spent.

4. Recon - I can not believe this guy .. he's really simple. I wonder if there's any other missing parts

5. Mercenary

6. Assault. Note that the RPG is in one piece. I prefer if they are detachable just like in the camouflaged set by S-Brand.

Front and rear view of the minifigures. Only one guy has dual sided faces and he's ugly..

I do not know if this will make you not interested in this set. The torso won't attached to the leg at all if you make them wear tactical belt! =(

All weapon and accessories you can get from this set:

    1. You are correct. I just watched the video and here is the print screen (from the video) that i snap when he made comparisons between the two brands. I really envy him. he always gets the latest set in advance >_<

It is possible that my Lele's Hulkbuster is among the earlier batch so they have to correct the face in the most recent set.Im not buying another from Lele. Decool will come out with one too, right? hehe

  7. Hi , do you have GUDI bootleg? Can you review it? Thx.

    1. My expereience with GUDI (i have something like 10-15 sets) is that the bricks and mini figs is of VERY high quality! I would say that the plastic quality and the molds is like Lego. When it comes to the printing of the mini figures it is very good but maybe slightly less detailed or intricate thant the best SY (and LEGO) mini figs. The sets often have very nice designs. Particulary I like their military vehicles (with one or two exceptions) and the mini figs that comes with these. But also their 3in1 sets that often have a military theme or their 3in1 Transformer sets... The 3in1 comes without mini figs. Other very nice designs worth mentioning is their "Star Wars"influenced sets... Till today I have failed to find a page displaying all their products (the URL on the packages doesn't work) but here's a AliEx-guy that have a few older sets...

    2. Thank you for your info.

I bought just 1 of GUDI's smallest 3-in-1 to check them out. Before this I have read glowing comments about GUDI so I was not completely surprised. GUDI bricks ... is ... very high quality indeed!

    3. @GnrlClstr, thanks for your review. wow. 10-15 set. i dont have any at the moment >_<. From the link that you share above, i'm seriously interested with this one:

but the price ^^; is it within the normal range? or maybe this set has been discontinued. therefore its price skyrocket?

Another brand I thought of when seeing alternative like this is the Oxford brand. but the price is on par with lego. expensive!

      Delete
    4. @legostore.My wow , is that aliexpress ? seems way too expensive. I bought GUDI set 8214 only for $7 . Maybe the set that you posted is around $12-$15. Maybe you can check taobao.

    5. you are very lucky anonymous. the lowest price for the same set on aliexpress is usd11

i dont prefer taobao because there's hidden fee.. commission and additional shipping charges. the final cost might be the same with the one from aliexpress.. heheh.

    6. Hi !
Actually I have not built all of the GUDI sets I've got yet since I have to distribute it in portions to my kids (my alibi for buying brick toys) not to spoil them :-) My initial focus with GUDI was their military sets that I love! When it comes to the Earth Border series I have only a handful of different sets. I can strongly recommend 8209. Since we really liked it I also bought a few extra as birthday gifts to my daughters friends… We built another Earth Border just a few days ago – 8212 – that I actually bought primary for the very cute (underwater) pilot-warrior-mini figure-girl :-) I have also 8108 that I have not built yet… These were all 4-6€ (without box) but I have seen them for more than four times that much… So you really have to navigate those AliEx waters…

The connection between GUDI and OXFORD is quite relevant. And this is two of my absolute favorite brick labels! Masters of simplicity and, until recently, they’ve produced straight forward, almost oldschool cool designs. What really stand out is their own unique and innovative designs. Simply good (and prioritized) research and development departments! I really like all sorts of “clone brands” and do not discriminate but these guys don’t just copy, imitate or re make but produce their own lines with very interesting layouts… Post clones maybe :-) In my eyes their strength is in the models (veichles etc) but on the other hand I actually really like GUDIs simple mini figures. And in some cases I have bought (GUDI) sets just for the nice mini figures too. While there’s plenty of producers of nice mini figs there’s not that many really good producers of sets of their own design…

I have a lot of (Korean) OXFORD sets but also some of the less good (Chineese) SLUBAN sets that have copied a lot of OXFORDS older designs. SLUBAN have OK bricks nowadays but their mini figures have always (in different ways) been really bad. However I bought SLUBAN sets just because having nice OXFORD designs. I could go on for days describing these brands qualities, problems and complicated relations to other brands like ENLIGHTEN, COBI, BANBAO… But, to keep it brief… The only flip side (besides distribution and price and maybe marketing) when it comes to OXFORD has been the mini figs. Good quality but slightly different construction than LEGO. And a bit silly looking (in particular their rounded feet). Today this has partly changed. In their later military sets OXFORD have come up with new (cool!?) mini figs with more articulation. I don’t have any myself yet so I have yet to decide what I think of these… As I understand this is (so far) only for the military sets though. Even though I can be a mini figure fetishist in some cases, I never cared too much about the OXFORD mini figs since the overall impression was so good and (as mentioned above) there were lots of good alternative sources for additional cool mini figs :-)

OXFORD, Codename Cobra, mini figs with articulation, URL for Korean site that is slightly better than the English version…
      http://www.oxfordtoy.co.kr/pro/oxford.asp?p_code=10&g_code=192

The prices at AliExpress is very differentiated (to say the least). Sometimes you could find something very cheap somewhere while others charge unusually much… The seller I linked to in my post earlier have some nice sets and all at the same place, it is not necessarily the most priceworthy seller though… I just wanted to give a good overview of some GUDI sets :-) I bought all my GUDI from AliEx but had the right timing or spent too much searching I guess…

GUDI, 600002a, APC Commando, recommended + good deal:
      http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/GUDI-TOY-soldier-armed-scout-apc-missile-command-communication-vehicle-toy-Building-Blocks-Sets-Model-Toys/1455218_2046049650.html

The APC is just amazing! I bought at least 4 pcs. For me this was a must have. The communication vehicle is rather uninteresting I think but I used the wheels to make the patrol car really cool :-) Another reason to go for “the package” would be the mini figs.

  12. In the gatling gun packs (the one with ammo backpack, not the tripod one) ... there seems to be two more small parts missing for the ammo backpack. It is not supposed to be so loose that it detaches from the tactical vest whenever the ammo belt is stretch and twisted.

The ammo backpack is suppose to have two points of attachment .... 1) the tactical vest stud .... 2) the missing part of the ammo backpack that has a hole wrap around the minifig neck.

That way is won't come off no matter how much the ammo belt stress it.

  13. Instead of glue, you could use clear nail polish on the part. I haven't tried it yet, but it's said to make plastic connections tighter. Just brush some on, let it cure for 24 hours and then it's good to go

    1. oh, thank you for sharing that tips :). I google about it. There are a lot people sharing their amazing experiences doing the repair on their action figures and other toys (especially those having joints) using nail polish :). thanks buddy!

  14. The problem that you describe where the legs won't stay attached to the Torso is common among these minifigs because the Non-LEGO minfigs do not have Ribs inside the torso. So once the belt is on, the legs don't make good contact with the Torso.

I buy these sets really for just the weapons and accessories, the legs are also usually fine. So usually I go to Bricklink and just order some cheap LEGO Police Torso's, they're going to be covered by the body armour anyway. The LEGO torso with Ribs will usually fit properly to the Legs with the belt on.

    1. Hi there. thank you very much for the explanation. The way you explain it is wayyy much better than i did hehe.

i agree with you. The important thing in each box is the accessories and weapons. for minifigure, I prefer those made by Lego >_<. After all, we can still use the camouflaged vest to make any figure looks more suited to hold those weapons
