This is the 2nd imitation set of Lego minifigures Guardians of The Galaxy that I have. As usual since they are from SY, they come in set of 8 with set number SY257. The other imitation GOTG figures that i already reviewed is by Decool. (You may read about them here).

For comparison, I have Decool on the left, Sheng Yuan in the middle and original Lego on the right.
1. Lego Star Lord wearing mask and jacket with side buttons. SY's figure does not come with dual sided faces.
2. The Sakaaran. Decool does not have this so only Lego minifigure on the right for comparison. Please note SY's figure does not come with dual sided faces.
3. "I am Groot". How many of you guys actually prefer this version - Same leg assembly and arm with Lego Woody and SY's Mr.Fantastic. Rocket Raccoon for scale.
Some say that original figure Lego Groot is too big. Do you think so?
4. Nova Corps Officer. Decool does not have this so only Lego minifigure on the right for comparison. Again, SY's figure does not come with dual sided faces.
5. Ronan The Accuser. SY's version does not even have cape!.... and no dual sided faces.
6. Drax. Wow, I can't believe SY's have printed tattoo on the arm - just like Lego and Decool. Is this the first figure by SY that have printed arm?
.. i'm going to copy paste this to every SY figure now.. SY's figure does not come with dual sided faces.
7. Gamora.. SY's figure does not come with dual sided faces.
8. Rocket Raccoon in orange outfit. Is this for real SY? Where's his tail?
Sometimes i forgot that SY and Decool are different brand and they might be a competitor to each other. Since SY set come later than Decool, I hope SY will issue different variant of the figure so we don't have too many repetitive figure. Just like Star-Lord figure. Both that we have here is Star Lord wearing jacket with side buttons. Why can't SY release the other variant - Star Lord with open jacket. Same with Rocket Raccoon. If only SY can issue RR variant - with red outfit.
I know some may say SY figure is getting better and better and (maybe) superior than Decool but for this GOTG set, all 5 figures by Decool (Star Lord, Ronan, Drax, Gamora and Rocket Raccoon) are much more better than SY.
My point? 4 of them (Star Lord, Ronan, Drax, Gamora) have dual sided face just like original Lego. SY's Ronan don't even come with cape. SY's Rocket Raccoon has missing tail! Oh, Decool also has one more figure that SY don't have in this set - Nebula.
However, SY issue 8 figures in this set meanwhile Decool only have 6. So if you already have 6 GOTG figure by Decool, maybe you just want 3 figures from SY (that Decool don't have) to complete the collection; The Sakaaran, Groot and Nova Corps Officer.
Since Decool and SY already issue their imitation set of GOTG, it looks like we will have problem finding imitation for this guy:

The Collector. He's one of the San-Diego Comic Con 2014 exclusives. Cost roughly USD120 on ebay. But let's keep our hopes up. As long as Marvel making new movies and Lego making new set out of it, the probability is there. I'm sure we will have his clone =p

Thanks to @Daryl Williams for the report that the latest batch of SY257 (bought in August 2015) has no improvement. Rocket still does not come with a tail and Ronan still does not come with a cape. =(
Thank you once again for the update. It seems that not all the figures released by SY will be improved. unlike Galactus figure of SY258 which has undergone improvements.
