Sheng Yuan SY289 Set of 8 Heroes Assemble

Oops they did it again :). Maybe I was too quick to judge after seeing some of the characters that have been issued before.. Superman, Green Lantern, Batman, Flash.. but they have been issued so many times by almost  ALL China brand available (^_^)".

I almost completely ignored this set until I noticed a very small detail with the minifigures. Let's see if you guys also noticed it.





Yuppp, they are just another variants (with more fancy torso design and more detail on the leg) but the most important update is the printed side arm! oh gosh i'm super excited about this. pardon me~


Of course they came with accessories and weapons, but I'm less interested in them.

I know what you all think, and I agree with you. The print and the details are superb but for some figs (especially Green Lantern and Cyborg), their face (including the alternate face) look funny haha..

 Now let's look at the print on the side of their arm.


Closer look:


I personally love Wonder Woman's arm the most because of the extra line on her left shoulder. These lego arms are very tiny and small yet the print is so sharp and clear :)

 Anyway, one of Sheng Yuan's latest set of 8s that i definitely ignore is SY293. I've had a lot of Super Heroes variant furthermore I am not a fan of transparent minifigures.

    I love the printing on the hands, but yeah faces are ridiculous. Serious Supes is serious.
    Why the hell cyborg is white anyway?
    Btw I've received Pogo set. Some mimifigs there also have hands with printing.

      so how's the quality? Pogo only issued this super heroes set of 12s, some star wars figure and few weapon pack so i don't think i'll find this brand in nearby store anytime soon.

      Well, first of all there were no platforms (isn't really important). These minifigs sure differ from other manufacturers. The texture of plastic is matte, hands attach easily, so does the arms. Btw Deathstroke has printing on the sides of legs.
      Printing is rather nice. Btw do you remember a pic of Gambit with printing defect on his chest? Mine has exactly the same defect.
      Others are better, some have printing on the hands. No dualfaces.
      Accessories. As you see most of them have guns. It fits Black Mask, but why whould Red Robin, Martian Manhunter or Shazam have a gun?
      Deadpool and Deathstroke have the best and most fitting accessories.
      Capes differ from other manufacturers', the fabric is different, but wow Red Robin's cape is amazing, while Gambit's coat fits very bad, I've almost torn it while trying to wear it (maybe I was just unlucky).
      As a DC fan, and especially Batman fan I consider this set as a must have.
      No other manufacturer did Red Robin like that with such cool cape, different version of Deathstroke, different version of Nightwing, first time I meet the Black Mask minifig. The Red Hood looks almost alike with Dargo's Red Hood though, but still little different.
      I'm still waiting for Pogo Batman and Killer Croc to arrive.

      hey thanks for this review :))). I will definitely remember this post when i got mine. I have found several lists advertised on aliexpress, but still hesitate because of weak foreign exchange.. so I'll try to check with nearby store if they can get this set for me.

      i noticed you pic don't have x-force deadpool but you have additional White Lantern and Daredevil.

    Hi, this set is really interesting for the arms . I didn't notice that when I saw the release. I thought it was just another set with only 1 new minifig. I don't like the helmet of cyborg, especially the half/hair, it looks "too slick". I will order. Thanks to you.

      Oh, my friend, 1 up Lego made that figure a couple of years ago. He sold the white one along with a complete justice League set and a custom big fig Darkseid for 185 USD on ebay.
